The driver involved in a four-car-crash that killed a 50-year-old man in east Auckland has been named.
Adam Michael Speir, 27, of Pakuranga, is alleged to have driven into a queue of cars while they waited at the traffic lights on Botany Road on January 28. He has been charged with manslaughter.
He allegedly hit the back of a car driven by father-of-two Zhengwen Alan Hu, who later died of the injuries he sustained in the crash.
Speir pleaded not guilty to manslaughter in the High Court at Auckland today, where his name suppression lapsed.
He is due to face a three-week trial in April next year, media reported.
The High Court at Auckland told the Times Speir will next appear in court in May for a case review.
