Botany MP Jami-Lee Ross appeared in Auckland District Court on Tuesday, February 25 to answer charges brought by the Serious Fraud Office in relation to the National Party donations impropriety.
Yikun Zhang (48), Shijia (Colin) Zheng (34) and Jami-Lee Matenga Ross (34) each face two charges of ‘Obtaining by deception’. Hengjia (Joe) Zheng (34) faces one charge of ‘Obtaining by deception’ under the Crimes Act and another of ‘Providing false or misleading information’ under the Serious Fraud Office Act.
The charges relate to donations paid to the National Party.
He, along with his co-defendants have pleaded not guilty to the SFO charges.
A brief statement was made to waiting media.
He was ordered to surrender his passport and was remanded on bail till June 10, when he must re-appear. He must reside at his home address.
