Dozens of volunteers braved the dismal weather on Saturday to plant more trees at Mangemangeroa Reserve.
The community planting day – hosted by Friends of Mangemangeroa and the Rotary Club of Howick – had around 2000 plants to dig-in including cabbage trees and flax. The wet weather didn’t deter around 50-60 people including a senior school group. Pakuranga MP Simeon Brown and Christopher Luxon, National’s candidate to stand for the Botany seat in September’s General Election, were also there.
