Local lad Luke Randall has taken first place in the Under 13 section at the National Scooter Champs in Napier.
Randall, 13, who is starting his first year at Howick College this year, is a team rider with Freestyle BMX / Scooter Co. He clinched the win on January 16.
“Ever since I could get on anything with wheels I’ve wanted to go the fastest, do the most dangerous stunts,” said Randall.
“I’ve raced a few seasons of BMX racing, but in the last couple of years I really found my passion riding scooters.
“I’ve gone from not knowing how to do a tail whip, to doing backflips. I dream to be a professional rider one day and I also want to get into designing skate parks and the design of scooters.”
