Several people are facing charges in relation to an alleged arson carried out at an east Auckland business in August last year.
A police spokesperson says a 19-year-old man has been remanded on bail to reappear in the Manukau District Court on March 25 following the fire at the barbershop in Harris Road, East Tamaki.
“Police were notified of the fire at a Harris Road shop at about 4.15am on August 3.
“Following an investigation, a 19-year-old was charged with arson in November.
“An 18-year-old was also charged with arson relating to the same incident and will reappear in Manukau District Court on February 11.”
CCTV of the alleged arson shows several people appearing to try to flee the flames shortly after the barbershop catches fire.
The business was said to have sustained “significant damage” in the incident.
No one was inside the barbershop at the time and no injuries were reported.
