Gymnasts and those with an interest in exercise and gymnastics are invited to a free family event this weekend.
Gymnastics in the Park, staged by the Out and About team from Auckland Council, the Howick Local Board, and Howick Gymnastic Club, is at Macleans Park, Eastern Beach, this Sunday, February 2, from 9.30am to 11.30am.
“We’d love to bring gymnastics out of the gym and into the community for all to be a part of,” organisers say.
“This is why the Howick Gymnastic Club, proudly supported by the Howick Local Board, have come together to bring you, Gymnastics in the Park.”
The organisers say the focus will be on the basic areas of gymnastics.
There’ll be “an exciting 30-minute circuit programme that gives children a chance to get their first introduction to gymnastics, with balance beams, trampolines, hula hoops and much more”.
“Parents of younger children are asked to please help your child around whilst older children will find their own way,” organisers say.
“Each session will last for 30 minutes, with a quick warm-up followed by the circuit of a range of activities to get your child moving.
“Come on down to Macleans Park for a fun free community event.”
