East Aucklanders can get free medical consultations this weekend.
East Health Services is making available for people checks of heart condition, diabetes and immunisations in Howick Village on Saturday, February 15.
The annual East Health Services’ Heart Expo is on between 8am and 12.30pm in the Howick War Memorial Hall (the ex-Information Centre) next to Howick Village Market in Picton Street.
“There will be an opportunity for people to have blood pressure checks, and health heart risk assessment supported by the Heart Foundation,” says East Health Services.
“Find out the content of fat/sugar and salt in food with a registered nutritionist from the Diabetes Foundation.
“Get up to date with funded vaccinations (criteria applies) and a Unichem pharmacist will be providing this.
“Get general healthy living information including mental health promotion, the importance of physical activity and how to get started,” says East Health Services.
“Qualified nurses will be on hand to talk through issues of concern to do with heart health along with full blood test (criteria applies).
“Just turn up, the Health Heart Expo team would love to see you.”
The health expo is being held with the support of the Howick Local Board and Howick Village Association.
