Police are calling for information from the public following an aggravated robbery at a business in east Auckland.
A police spokesperson says officers were called to the store, Four Square Pakuranga Heights on Reeves Road, after two people armed with hammers entered the premises at about 5.20pm on February 22.
“A quantity of cash has been taken from the business before the offenders fled in a vehicle nearby,” they told the Times.
“An investigation is under way, and police have carried out a scene examination at the business.”
Pakuranga MP Simeon Brown, who visited the shop after the incident, posted a statement on social media saying fortunately no one was harmed but it left the staff “very shaken”.
“Police responded quickly after the incident and if anyone has any information which can assist police with their investigations please contact them,” he says.
Four Square Pakuranga Heights also shared a message with its customers and the community online on February 23, saying: “As many of you are aware our team sadly went through an armed robbery yesterday.
“It was a traumatic and frightening experience for all who were there.
“However fortunately no one was harmed and they handled the situation extremely well.
“The police responded quickly and have all the necessary details to try and catch the culprits.
“In the meantime please keep yourselves and your families safe.
“Remember life is a one-time gift. Also be extra kind to our team over the coming days as we all deal with what has just happened.
“We need your continued support. Our doors are open and will never close. Thank you.”
