We are seeking a forward-thinking and experienced leader of careers to take on this exciting and dynamic role, supporting our growing community of 1,500 senior students. This is an opportunity to lead innovative approaches to career education and pathways in a school committed to excellence and inclusivity. This job carries with it 1 MU + 1 MMA.
Ormiston Senior College is a Y11–13 school with a focus on student agency, cultural inclusivity, and personalised learning.

A successful candidate will demonstrate:
- Expertise in careers education and guidance, with a focus on innovative, student-centered approaches
- The ability to work closely with senior leadership, staff, and external stakeholders to develop and implement effective career pathways
- Experience in managing budgets and resources to maximize opportunities for students
- A commitment to fostering strong relationships with ākonga, whānau, and the wider community
- The ability to support and engage Māori and Pacific ākonga
- A desire to honour obligations under Te Tiriti o Waitangi
Key responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the school’s Careers Department, ensuring it meets the diverse needs of our senior students
- Collaborate with senior leadershipto integrate careers education into the school’s strategic goals
- Develop innovative career pathways and opportunities for students to thrive in tertiary education, apprenticeships, and employment
- Manage budgets and resources to support effective delivery of career guidance
- Build strong partnerships with local businesses, tertiary institutions, and industry representatives
