Auckland’s Eden Park is being transformed into the ultimate artistic experience for this year’s Art in the Park exhibition and sale.

The event has grown into Australasia’s largest curated artist-led show with thousands of people expected to flock to Eden Park.

It was developed by Sofija Matich and Cary Cochrane “to offer a new platform for New Zealand artists annually at Eden Park”.

“Having worked together at the Flagstaff Gallery they are an experienced team with specialist knowledge of delivering contemporary art exhibitions and events to Auckland communities.

“Cary has a passion for art and people and has organised multiple large-scale charity events throughout the world.

“As the owner of the Flagstaff Gallery, she specialises in nurturing artistic talent and is known for her warmth and expertise in this field.

“Sofija has a proven record of creating new opportunities for businesses and people to maximise their potential.

“She has orchestrated hundreds of events for some of the world’s largest arts institutions, including the National Gallery and the Wallace Collection in London.”

The event’s organisers say people who go along will be immersed in the paintings, photography, wall art, sculptures, and more, from New Zealand’s breakthrough creative talents.

Art in the Park features the work of more than 150 top artists from across the country.

It includes 90 large-scale sculptures, the immersive Heartland Digital Art Experience, guided stadium tours, specialist and artist talks, a creative space for adults and children, the glitz and glam on opening night, and a range of art the viewers will never forget.

Tickets provide full, weekend-long access, where people and families can enjoy a unique, curated experience of Kiwi art at Eden Park.

Children aged 14 and under can enter for free. Art in the Park is at Eden Park from September 19-22.

Tickets start at $19. To book, go online to www.artinthepark.co.nz.
