The people behind Flow Academy of Motion Gym and JD Studios are thrilled to announce they’re teaming up to open at a new location in east Auckland.
Its doors open on February 17 and will cater to students of all ages with dance classes for students aged from two to 18 years.
Flow Academy of Motion has been running on Auckland’s North Shore for more than 10 years and had a gym in Highland Park prior to Covid-19.
It’s been looking to move back into east Auckland due to high demand, Chereen De Breche says.
Flow offers classes for all ages and boys and girls in Parkour and free-running, gymnastics, tumbling, martial arts tricking, Circus arts, Dance Acro, Tumbling, Breaking, and Tricking, and has space for birthday parties and holiday programmes.
JD Studios offers classes in Jazz, Hip-Hop, Contemporary, Ballet (including Demi and Pointe), Technique and conditioning, with classes for beginners to advanced and all age groups.
It also has a “very successful” competition company, De Breche says.
The new studio is staging an open day this Saturday, February 15, from 12pm to 4pm.
It will have 30-minute sessions for people to walk around the new venue, try out equipment, find out more about the types of classes it offers and what they entail, give things a go, staff performances and freestyling and opening day specials for sign-up.
“Making this venture even more exciting is that Flow is teaming up with JD Studios, a dance studio with a history in the east for more than 15 years,” De Breche says.
“What we’re most excited about is bringing Flow Academy of Motion back to east Auckland, sharing our family-friendly inclusive environment with the community, having our students and dancers experience the purpose-built state-of-the-art facility.
“They’ll be taught by professional, highly experienced and specifically trained teachers, welcoming our past, current and new students for fun-filled classes.
“We offer local, national and international opportunities in competition and high-performance groups.
“We’re very excited to share our passion and expertise with all who walk through our doors and continuing teaching and uplifting our students and dancers.”
Term one starts for all Flow and JD Studios classes on Monday, February 17.
