East Auckland is hosting a vibrant two-week ‘Celebrating Culture Pop-Up’ featuring cultural activities, workshops and events at Ormiston Town Centre.
It’s presented by Te Tuhi and is intended to encourage locals to embrace the region’s rich diversity.
The initiative runs from March 15-30 next to the New World supermarket at Ormiston Town Centre and features an exciting line-up of cultural events and interactive experiences led by local groups and creatives.
“From traditional craft workshops and cooking demonstrations to dance performances and family-friendly activities, it’ll be a unique celebration of arts, culture, and community,” community manager Ashley Grogan says.
“Everyone is welcome to join in and foster deeper connections. Access to all the events is free, prior reservation through the ticketing platform Eventbrite.”
The Celebrating Culture Pop-Up is a Te Tuhi programme generously funded by the Howick Local Board and supported by Ormiston Town Centre.
It recently opened with an event featuring live cultural performances, children’s carnival rides, henna painting, and creative craft activities.
“The Celebrating Culture Pop-Up is free and open to all, bring your friends and family and be part of this incredible community event.”
