The work of award-winning photographer Parmeet Sahni is being publicly displayed in east Auckland.
Her exhibition, entitled Soulful journey through India takes a “deep dive” into the depths of that Asian country through her camera lens.
“Time flies, but memories stay,” are the words Sahni lives by.
Her exhibition features a selection of photos from the thousands she captured and through those images she’s brought back a glimpse of a “divine and mystical land”.
The show brings India’s real essence and rich culture to a New Zealand audience through still photography.
People of all cultures and communities are invited to get along to see the photos up close and to celebrate the Indian festival of Diwali and the diversity of New Zealand.
People who visit the exhibition may have the chance to meet Sahni and to buy prints of her work, the part proceeds of which will be donated to the New Zealand Sikh Women’s Association.
The photos can be seen locally at Highland Park Library and Howick Library from 10am-4pm on October 22.
