Three eye-catching images amongst a public exhibition of stunning photographic works have been named the standouts by visitors to the show.
The Howick Photographic Society, in conjunction with the Auckland Festival of Photography, publicly showcased a large selection of images by its award-winning and emerging photographers.
The recent exhibition was staged at Uxbridge Arts and Culture in Howick with the three images being named the best on show having been shot by Deborah Owen, Sheryl Williams, and Shona Kebble.
The society has been active in east Auckland since its formation in 1956 and seeks to foster the love and teaching of photography.
It caters for all types of photographers from absolute beginners to the more experienced.
Images in the recent Howick exhibition were chosen from members including beginners to the most experienced and cover all styles.
Exhibition convenor Doug Mitchell says the society wants to thank the more than 1000 people who went along to check it out.
“It was a highly successful event with much interest in the range of images and also photography in general.
“Well over 500 people voted for the ‘Best in Exhibition’.
“Thanks to everyone for participating and we look forward to seeing you at our next event or in our clubrooms.”
The society holds meetings in-person and online by Zoom on the first, third and fourth Mondays of each month from February to November in the basement of the Howick Bridge Club, Howick Leisure Centre, 563 Pakuranga Road.
