Police have launched an investigation after a firearms incident in which a person was shot at an east Auckland bar last night, January 16.
A police spokesperson says officers were called at about 9.46pm when three males entered the premises on Dunrobin Place in Highland Park and assaulted a man before a shot was fired.
The Times understands the incident happened at Applejack’s Bar and Eatery.
“One person received a serious injury and was transported to hospital,” the spokesperson says.
“Enquiries are now ongoing to determine the full circumstances of what has occurred including who is responsible.

The concerning incident sparked a large amount of discussion on local community Facebook pages, with people saying they’d seen police cars travelling at speed through east Auckland.
Numerous commenters identified the incident as having happened at Applejack’s.
