Prime Minister Christopher Luxon has officially opened Vitaco’s new expanded state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in East Tamaki.
The health and wellness business says its new 364-square-metre powder blending plant will increase production capacity by more than 70 per cent.
Vitaco chief executive Craig Kearney says it will also “enhance the work environment for our people”.
The facility is part of a $47 million capital expenditure programme to build more manufacturing capacity and capability at Vitaco’s East Tāmaki and Penrose sites.
“Our expansion is not only a win for New Zealand’s economy but also a testament to the dedication and vision of our company that has been empowering Kiwis to live healthier lives for over a century,” Kearney says.
“It’s been a pleasure to have the Prime Minister Christopher Luxon open our expanded facilities and meet our dedicated team.”
The company, with well-known brands Healtheries, Musashi, Nutra-Life, and Athen, believes it “continues to shape the health and wellness landscape in New Zealand and beyond”.
“As we expand our operations, our focus remains on delivering the best possible products for our customers, while continuing to invest in the future of New Zealand,” says Kearney.
“It’s crucial we work with the Government to ensure regulatory processes are efficient and supportive of businesses like ours, enabling us to compete on the global stage.”
