Motoring: Jaguar to growl at Brit-Euro show

By Jim Birchall

Geof Roberts has always had a penchant for Jaguars, and this march he will be bringing three splendid examples to the annual Brit & Euro Classic Car Show held at Lloyd Elsmore Park.

The Times asked what got Geof initially interested in Jaguars?

“I have always liked cars, but in particular the Jaguar XK 120 (produced in the early 1950s) and the Mark 7”

Geof’s favourite he has owned is the 1987 V12 X J S, and counts the series 4 (with a 2.8-litre motor and 3.6-litre gearbox) as the first ‘bad’ buying mistake.

Geof will be bringing along his wife’s 2019 Jaguar XJL, a 2013 Jaguar XF sport brake, and a classic 1967 Jaguar 420 G mark 10.

According to organisers, the non-competitive public event has already signed up 774 cars and 21 bikes for the 2020 show. The number expected to climb and better last year’s turnout.

“With plenty of food and a live broadcast from EAST FM, it will be a memorable and highlight event for every age and culture.” Says organiser Richard Waugh
