Attempted break in at Pakuranga Plaza

A group of offenders were seen throwing rocks at the glass windows in an attempt to gain entry into the Plaza. Times photo. 

Police are on the hunt for suspects following an attempted break in at Pakuranga Plaza early this morning.

Police received reports of the incident at around 5am.

“A group of offenders were seen throwing rocks in an attempt to gain entry into the plaza however they were unsuccessful,” says Senior Sergeant Pete Kaveney.

“They fled in what is believed to be a  black vehicle which headed toward Glen Innes.”

Police are conducting area inquires which will include reviewing CCTV footage.

Police are asking for anyone who might have information on the incident to contact Senior Sergeant Peter Kaveney from Counties Manukau Police on (09) 261 1321.

Alternatively, information can also be provided anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

Police removed a large rock from the premises which had been used to smash a window at the entrance to the Plaza.
