Police are investigating an incident that saw an east Auckland resident assaulted while trying to stop his vehicle from being stolen.
A police spokesperson says officers were notified of a robbery in Bacot Place, Howick, at about 6.50am on January 13.
One person was injured and taken to hospital.
“The offender drove the stolen vehicle into a parked vehicle further up the road and then fled on foot.
“Enquiries are ongoing to determine the circumstances.”
