Armed police are responding to an incident in east Auckland.
Photos taken at the scene and provided to the Times show officers carrying rifles as well as multiple police vehicles and a K9 police dog unit in the street in Manor Park, Pakuranga, this morning, August 7.
Police at the scene told a Times reporter the incident has nothing to do with the area.
A police spokesperson this afternoon said officers were deployed in Pakuranga this morning “after a vehicle was sighted connected to a person of interest”.
“No arrest was made. The incident has concluded, and there is no ongoing risk as a result of this matter.”
