The committee for the Auckland Brit & Euro Classic Car Show met on site at Lloyd Elsmore Park on Sunday, March 6, the day of the cancelled 2022 show.

Committee members brought their cars along for a BBQ.

The Auckland Brit & Euro Classic Car Show chairman, Rev Dr Richard Waugh, told the Times, “It was such a disappointment having to cancel this year’s show due to Covid-19 restrictions.”

The event was shaping up to be the biggest yet with more than 1400 cars and 12,000 people expected.

“Our committee members met on site on the car show day to commiserate and look forward to our event in 2023,” said Waugh.

“Committee members displayed their cars and there was renewed enthusiasm for next year’s event.

“On behalf of the committee I would like to reassure the east Auckland community that the Brit & Euro event – thanks to hundreds of volunteers and so many enthusiasts – will be back in 2023 as strong and successful as ever.”
