First dance show for Jaye’s

Local group Jaye’s Dance is preparing for its first public dance show.

Owner Stacey Williams says they are “super excited” to bring it to the public.

“Our dancers who are aged 8 to 18 have been working extremely hard to bring the show to excellence,” she says.

“Some of these kids have recently returned from Hawaii placing second overall in an international dance competition and just weeks ago taking second place at New Zealand’s Battlegrounds Championship where they will now represent New Zealand in Sydney later this year. This show has a great storyline which will interest kids and adults alike.”

Jaye’s Dance has two shows on next Monday and Tuesday

The show is called Login Required and marks the journey of a group of youths who are forced to learn about themselves and others in a world where connection is lost.

This show has been created to provide a platform for dancers to experience the creative process, develop choreographic skills and create a work that is unique. Featuring our very own talented dancers from Miz Leaguez and Lil’ Leaguez, with guest artists.

It is on Monday August 19 and Tuesday August 20 at the Mangere Arts Centre.
