A fire and explosion has destroyed one boat at Pine Harbour Marina and damaged several others.
A Fire and Emergency NZ spokesperson said they were called to a boat fire on a berth at Pine Harbour at 3.39 pm on Monday.
The boat was well-involved with fire, then sank.
Another, which caught the flames of the first vessel, was dampened.
Dave McKeown, assistant commander at Papatoetoe fire station, says the second one has extensive damage.
Three more boats were damaged.
McKeown says it took approximately 10-15 minutes for them to put out the fire.
The cause of the fire is unknown and being investigated.
There were no injuries.
