Howick Village’s popular and well-loved Hop will be cancelled for the second time this year due to Covid-19 lockdowns.

The event was originally planned for March 13, was cancelled, and then re-scheduled to September 25, 2021, but due to the alert level lockdowns it will be held in 2022. The date is unconfirmed.

The free Howick Village Hop event Summer Street Party is a fun day for the family who can enjoy Rock ‘n’ Roll dancing, classic cars, caravans and hot rods, entertainment, food stalls and the village market.

In February of last year, over 100 registrations were filed for enthusiasts to show their classic cars, caravans and hot rods.

“It was a disappointing decision for the Howick Village Association to cancel the Hop,” Jane Newbury, Village manager, says.
