On a beautiful sunny afternoon (January 31), Howick man, WWII air force hero Squadron Leader Keith Boles DFC, celebrated his 100th birthday at Bell House in Lloyd Elsmore Park.
The occasion commenced with a fly past from Warbirds pilots as a tribute to Keith on his special day.
As well as family and friends, officers from the RNZAF attended and his party opened with an announcement from Howick’s Town Crier Jim Donald.
The former Mayor of Howick, Morrin Cooper, played Happy Birthday on his trumpet. Keith was in great form and thoroughly enjoyed his 100th birthday.
