The ‘Love Tennis’ event is on again this year and free to all the community.
Pakuranga Tennis Club, which is celebrating its 100th anniversary, has numerous activities planned for Sunday.
‘Love Tennis’ offers the opportunity to experience the game of tennis, whether you are an experienced player or just keen to learn.
As Tennis NZ CEO Julie Paterson has said, “Tennis is a sport for everyone and Love Tennis weekend is the perfect time to find out more about what your local club can offer. It’s heaps of fun, no experience is necessary and it’s 100 per cent free!”
For everyone signing up for membership on the day, Pakuranga Tennis is offering for seniors, a free tennis racquet or bag, a can of tennis balls and six free group coaching lessons
Juniors are being offered a free tennis racquet, mini tennis bag, a drink bottle and a tennis towel.
Other attractions will feature a free barbeque sponsored by New World Howick and spot prizes including Rebel Sport and free coffee vouchers (there will be a coffee cart on site as well).
Activities will include playing with vintage tennis rackets, hot shots tennis (suitable for the little ones with low level nets) and target tennis with prizes when you hit the target, including Sal’s pizza vouchers.
A major attraction will be the opportunity to go in the draw to win tickets for two to the ASB Classic Tournament in Auckland, scheduled for early next year.
Love Tennis 2022 takes place at the Pakuranga Tennis Club, 101 Pigeon Mountain Rd on September 11 from 11am-4pm.
