Naturopath dies after 35 years in practice

Pam Sims was passionate about on natural health, opera, theatre and her dogs.

Well-known naturopath Pam Sims has died at her home after a short illness.

Sims, who graduated from Naturopathic College in 1987, practised from her Greenhill Health Centre on Pakuranga Road, and more recently from her home in Howick.

In 1987, it was all about pills, potion and lotions, but as the years went by, she realised that diet plays a huge part in our health and that became her focus.

But natural health was not her only passion.

An opera lover since primary school days, she loved to introduce friends to the magic world of opera. Italy, and all things Italian, also played an important role in her life.

She was an enthusiastic member of the Howick Women’s Dinner Club for more than 40 years and Howick Little Theatre.

Her other great love was very much canines and, whatever the weather, she could be found on the beach most mornings accompanied by her two dogs.

A service will held for her at 1pm on Saturday, November 12 at Howick Funeral Home in Wellington Street.
