Todd Property Group has announced the official opening date of Ormiston Town Centre, with doors opening to welcome the local community on Thursday March 25.
With just four weeks to go, inside the centre tenants are busy preparing their spaces for customers and fit-out contractors are working hard to bring interior designs to life.
Todd Property group development manager Sean Leonard said the core town centre offering of supermarkets, a department store, health and beauty, fashion, gyms, childcare, entertainment and food and beverage will be a welcome addition to Ormiston.
“We know that the opening of Ormiston Town Centre has been long-awaited, and needed, by this community,” said Leonard.
“Covid-19 has brought new and ongoing challenges to the retail landscape, and as a result, some retailers won’t be there on day one, but Ormiston Town Centre will evolve and grow with time.”
Based on a master plan laid out by Sir Barry Curtis 20 years ago, Todd Property Group has led the development alongside Auckland Council, who plan to build a library and community centre on the adjoining land.
Leonard said Ormiston Town Centre has been designed for community, convenience, entertainment and easy living.
“It boasts generously designed communal spaces in The Eatery, The Square and The Market, and a family-centric approach is reflected in the well-appointed caregiver’s room,” Leonard said.
“We’ve got a busy month ahead but are looking forward to opening our doors and meeting the community on March 25 to give them a place to meet friends or family for a meal, go to the gym, head to the movies or shop for all the essentials they might need.”
Most of the exterior building work was completed in December with finishing touches to landscaping and signage expected ahead of opening in March.
