Two people have been arrested and charged in relation to the alleged armed robbery of an east Auckland store.
Counties Manukau Police say two offenders held up a jewellery store at Botany Town Centre on January 10.
One of the suspects was armed with a shotgun, detective senior sergeant Veronica McPherson said at the time.
“A quantity of jewellery has been taken. These offenders fled the shopping centre on a moped shortly afterward.
“This moped was later located in the nearby East Tamaki area and is being examined.”
Police carried out a scene examination at the store after the incident and launched an investigation.
On January 20, police publicly announced they had made two arrests over the robbery.
“We arrested and charged a 22-year-old man with aggravated robbery and aggravated assault over the incident.
“We have also recently arrested a 41-year-old man in relation to the incident.
“He is also charged with aggravated robbery and aggravated assault.”
The 22-year-old appeared in the Auckland District Court while the 41-year-old appeared in the Manukau District Court.
