Police have arrested and charged a person in relation to several ram raid incidents in east and south Auckland.

Detective inspector Karen Bright, of Counties Manukau Police’s criminal investigation branch, says the incidents happened in Flat Bush, Drury, and Paerata between 11.50pm on March 31 and 1am the following day.

“A significant amount of property was recovered, including three stolen vehicles,” she says.

“Police are making enquiries into a fourth incident that occurred at a petrol station in Pakuranga.

“One person has been arrested and is now before the Youth Court on burglary, dishonesty offending, and driving charges.

“Enquiries are ongoing and police are not ruling out further charges being laid.”

A police spokesperson says a dairy in Chapel Road was the target in the Flat Bush ram raid.

People with information on the incidents are asked to phone police on 105, quoting file number 220331/0886.

Alternatively, phone the free and anonymous Crimestoppers tip-off line on 0800 555 111.

Meanwhile, police investigating a shooting in Sandringham, central Auckland, are appealing to the public for information on the whereabouts David Tuitupou.

An arrest warrant has been issued for the 24-year-old in relation to wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm with a firearm.

Police say Tuitupou is actively avoiding them.

He has ties across Auckland and is known to frequent the Bucklands Beach and Mount Roskill areas.

Anyone who sees Tuitupou is asked to phone police on 111.
