Police are investigating after a person was found dead at a house in Half Moon Bay.
Initial reports suggested there were two people located deceased at the property in Casuarina Road.
Police can now confirm there is one person deceased at the address.
Detective Inspector Tofilau Faamanuia Vaaelua of Counties Manukau Police’s criminal investigation branch says officers are attending an incident at the property in Casuarina Road.
“Police are currently at the scene and working to establish exactly what has occurred.
“We are also speaking with a person at the address.
“Local residents will see an increased police presence as we undertake our preliminary enquiries.”
An update was issued on the incident at 5.56pm.
Vaaelua says police investigations are continuing this evening after the person was found deceased earlier today.
“Police remain on the scene and cordons are in place as we work to establish exactly what has occurred.
“A scene guard will remain in place overnight and a scene examination will get underway tomorrow.
“Casuarina Road is currently closed between Liam and Medina Places.
“We want to reassure the community we will provide updates as they come to hand.
“An increased police presence will remain as our enquiries continue into the circumstances surrounding this incident.”
