There’s an easier way

Times Newspapers’ managing director Reay Neben and husband Brian have finally had their second vaccination shot. Turns out there’s an easier way

Last week, off we headed down to The Doctors Ti Rakau to have our second vaccine.

This was actually a pleasure after having the first vaccination with the multitudes at the vaccination centre at Highbrook Drive.

From June 1 a number of local medical clinics have been able to offer vaccinations and, for me and others I know, the change to a local clinic is much easier and quicker.

The procedure with the vaccine is the same – just much more personal and there are no long queues. What took two-and-a-half hours for us at Highbrook took 35 minutes at the local clinic.

Neither of us suffered side effects but it was more reassuring to have doctors there if they were needed.

Now we’re Covid-safe and feeling good.

  • Based on evidence from clinical trials in people aged 16 years and older, the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine was 95% effective at preventing laboratory-confirmed COVID-19 illness in people without evidence of previous infection.
