The 51-year-old Whitford Pony Club will be bringing the local community together at their scenic club grounds once again.
This weekend the club will be hosting its exciting annual fundraising 2 Day Equestrian Event. The event has been a calendar feature for more than 30 years.
After a Covid break, the 2022 event promises to be a blockbuster, with a record-breaking 180 entries coming from all around the wider Auckland area and as far afield as the Waikato and Whangarei.
“This is all possible thanks to the main event sponsors K3 Legal along with class sponsors (95cm) ML Squire – Bayleys Lifestyle; (80cm) Veterinary Associates Equine and (65cm) Project Earthworks, all whom provide funds, prizes and essential support,” the club said.
“In addition, local businesses and business owners sponsor individual cross country jumps – thanks to our club sponsor Emphasis Homes, Access Partners in Property, Malmac, On Road Rentals, Edge Equine Therapy and Subaru.”
Prizes for rosette winners are supplied by Takanini Feeds, NRM, Herdd Bedding and Silky Otter Theatre.
The 2 Day Event will also be host to several equine interest stalls and services on the day. Eco Horse and Peak Road will have retail stands set up.
“And our local equine massage therapist Edge Equine will be treating our hard-working horses. The onsite canteen will be serving up tasty treats and home baking, with fresh coffee and hot beverages onsite.
“One of the highlights of the weekend will be the draw of our most amazing horse care package ever, a limited ticket raffle.
“One very lucky winner will wheel off an Emphasis Homes Wheelbarrow loaded with equestrian goods and vouchers valued at $4900.”
The draw will take place at the show and will be broadcast live on Facebook on Sunday morning.
