With the countdown to Christmas, the Auckland Polo Club, established in 1883 and NZ’s largest polo club, is also busy preparing for their upcoming tournaments.
Amongst a full calendar of weekend polo throughout the summer, Auckland Polo Club will host the renowned BMW NZ Polo Open on Sunday February 20.
Meanwhile, 2022 marks the 45th year of the NZ Polo Open, the nation’s most prestigious polo event attracting thousands of people to Clevedon.
With plenty of horsepower on and off the field, the February event will be a spectacle of competitive polo and style; from the race between a BMW and polo pony to the new “Remix Fashion at the Polo’ competition with plenty of entertainment everyone.
After a year of Covid restrictions, Lucy Ainsley, executive director of the BMW NZ Polo Open, is confident this will be an exceptional event.
“Polo is a great spectator sport and we encourage anyone who hasn’t been before to join us on Sunday February 20,” says Ainsley.
“This ultimate polo experience makes for a great Christmas gift. We can also tailor make specific options for small-to-larger groups of guests which is ideal for those Christmas work parties that couldn’t be held this month.”
