Two top young east Auckland tennis players recently represented New Zealand on the international stage.
Cockle Bay Tennis Club junior players Audrey Tran, who attends Saint Kentigern College in Pakuranga, and Luca Bland were selected for this country’s 15U girls’ and boys’ teams at the 2024 Australian Nationals team event on the Gold Coast.
The New Zealand girls’ team finished in sixth place overall and the boys’ team was fifth.

The club says: “Audrey has been a junior at the Cockle Bay Tennis Club for many years and was a member of the Cockle Bay Tennis Club women’s Caro Bowl team in 2023.
“Luca made his debut for the Cockle Bay Tennis Club men’s Caro Bowl team in 2023 and will be a regular in the 2024 team.”
