It is a matter of great concern that people are being misled by this Government proposal regarding Three Waters [The Government is reviewing how to improve the regulation and supply arrangements of drinking water, wastewater and stormwater].
An example is the Mayor of West Coast (Bruce Smith) who has done his homework and the effect of Three Waters to the West Coast users is as follows:
$120 million of water assets will go to the Government who will pay $11 million to retire any debt
At present, the current cost of water to residential ratepayers on the West Coast is $375 per annum but under the Three Waters programme it will go up to $1609pa.
So be warned – what will our costs be?
