Nathan Haines is heading to Uxbridge

New Zealand born musician Nathan Haines is heading to Uxbridge this month.

The vocalist and saxophonist will take the stage against all odds for a special concert on June 16 after a throat cancer diagnosis last year left him unsure if he would ever play again.

He will be joined by his brother Joel Haines on guitar, Alan Brown on Hammond organ and keyboards, with his regular stellar rhythm section of Mickey Ututaonga on drums with Karika Turua on bass providing a solid, grooving foundation.

“I’m very excited to be back and to be able to play again” says Nathan.

“I’ve been through hell and back again since I was admitted to hospital for life saving surgery on boxing day 2017. I’ve had to rethink a few things and try and rebuild myself physically, but music for me is a healing force in the universe and as such it will give me the energy I need to play alongside my brother and close friends”.

Nathan celebrates 25 years next year in 2019 since his ground breaking debut album “Shift Left” was released in 1994.

This album was Nathan’s fist gold selling album in New Zealand and went onto produce a whole new generation of musicians and producers and to change the local musical landscape.

The show will draw on past albums from his extensive back catalog plus some brand new material and is a show of an artist at his creative peak playing music from the heart.”
