There was a big buzz as the second phase of the Botany Town Centre $78m refurbishment was unveiled on Thursday.
Plenty of stakeholders were excited about the opening as 15 months later, the precinct connecting Town Centre Drive to New World supermarket, is now weatherproof with laminated arches and a modern architectural look.
The traditional old space has been transformed to offer an alternative experience for shoppers with shops and cafes wearing a well designed, vibrant look.
“It’s been two years of construction and destruction to create a great products and experiences,” said Mark Kirkland, managing director AMP Capital, at the opening, referring to both phase one and two of the refurbishment.
A combination of landscape architecture, engineering and design skills have created a green environment that brings the atrium a modern indoor-outdoor flow
A one-of-a kind special play area that can also accommodate children with disabilities is another feature that deserves a mention.
Now the last phase of refurbishment which they hope to complete before Christmas would involve level one where the Botany Library and the cinemas are located.
