智能艺术:乌克斯布里奇举办与众不同的艺术品拍卖会

In this active era of recycling, an inaugural event aims to share the joy of artworks by making pieces available to new prospective owners.

Uxbridge Arts and Culture in Howick is staging its first Art Resale Week from May 2-7, with the theme of “one man’s discard is another man’s treasure”.

Describing it as “an art sale with a difference”, Uxbridge board member Andrea Edwards says “it’s a great opportunity for art lovers”.

“Art Resale Week is for pre-owned art needing a new home. It’s the perfect event for anyone decluttering, downsizing, restyling, or who has artwork no longer liked – or never liked!

“Now’s the time to check your walls, shelves, attics, cupboards and under the bed.”

Edwards says Art Resale Week is a chance for Uxbridge Arts and Culture to facilitate the trading and exchanging of art pieces.

Uxbridge

“To make this an exciting and successful event for sellers, buyers, and Uxbridge, we’re looking for a broad selection of good quality art, sculpture and objects d’arte that are well presented, in good condition and sensibly priced.”

Any supporting information and documentation about the artworks or artists will add value, she says, with the three price categories being: up to $1000; $1001 to $5000; and more than $5000.

“Art Resale Week gives people a schedule to work towards if they’re decluttering, downsizing or having a change of style, and includes a donation to our beloved public arts and culture centre in East Auckland.”

Edwards adds the event is “not for new work or for artists selling their own pieces”.
