Covid-19:帕库兰加国会议员西蒙-布朗的最新消息

Pakuranga member for parliament Simeon Brown writes;

We are now almost through Week 3 of the Covid-19 Alert Level 4 lockdown, which was put in place to fight Covid-19, and we are starting to see the results of the effort we have all made with case numbers coming down and the number of people recovering increasing. We should all be pleased with these results. I am particularly grateful to everyone in the Pakuranga electorate who is following the rules to help fight this virus, and to all frontline essential workers.

Last week the Government finally decided to ensure that everyone arriving in New Zealand should be mandatorily quarantined. This measure was weeks overdue but means that we can now ensure that there is a very low chance of new infections coming from overseas, which has been the biggest risk to NZ.

Thank you to everyone who signed the National Party’s petition to make this happen and to help put pressure on the Government.

The Government has announced that next week on Monday the 20th of April we will find out whether we will come out of Level 4 and whether the current restrictions will be reduced. If the Government does decide to reduce the restrictions it will be critical that all New Zealanders are given clarity around these changes and which businesses will be able to get back to work. This clarity is needed so that businesses can make decisions around whether they can reopen and have time to put health and safety measures into place for their staff and customers. The last thing we want is for the number of Covid-19 cases to go back up again.

I will be keeping a very close eye on the Government’s decisions and will be available to assist you in answering any questions you have or pointing you in the right direction. I have found that the rules have been changing rapidly, even during Level 4, and expect the same to take place throughout any other restriction levels.
