Tick the yes box if you understood all the spoken content of last weekend’s (July 23, 24) TVNZ 1 weather presentations at 6.50pm.
I foolishly always thought that any broadcasting, be it television or radio, was to get the message across to the masses as easily as possible. There are many thousands of bi-lingual speakers in this country, many multilingual.
Many immigrants to this country speak Hindi, Mandarin, Afrikaans and a multitude of European languages as their primary language with English secondary.
If a simple ‘uni’ language speaker such as myself cannot understand a weather forecast, what hope do they have?
What an embarrassment!
