Professional golfer Ryan Fox, from Beachlands, shot a final round 65 on the Old Course to tie for second place at the rain-affected Alfred Dunhill Links Championship at the Old Course at St Andrews at the weekend.
The finish gave his official world golf ranking a good nudge from 32 to 29. Fox wasn’t really able to defend his Dunhill Links Championship title – the event was reduced to 54 holes after heavy rain affected play on Saturday and Sunday [local time].
Fox, a recent winner at the BMW PGA Championship, finished three behind winner Matt Fitzpatrick who won by three strokes.
Fox’s second-place earned him €338,690 ($594,376).
