Councillor John Watson and Mayor Wayne Brown have joked about replacing each other at the council table.
At Auckland Council’s Governing Body meeting on May 2, Cr John Watson was attending online.
An Ōrakei local board member presenting at committee used Watson’s seat which prompted Mayor Wayne Brown to suggest the board member take up the seat permanently.
“You can keep it,” Brown said.
Cr Watson had a chuckle at the comment and returned a jab.
“He could do one better and go up right up the front [in Brown’s seat]. That would be the best solution. First class,” Watson said.
