About 4000 students from 24 schools in Auckland and Christchurch are taking part in the 3G4G Festival of Cultural Sharing at Fo Guang Shan Buddhist Temple in Flat Bush.

It’s intended to foster a deeper understanding of the 3G4G (Three Goodness and Four Givings) philosophy.

The festival began on April 30 will runs until May 29.

In its 10th year at the tranquil surroundings of the Buddhist Temple, it’s geared toward nourishing young minds with a strong moral grounding.

Encouraging students to build core values, the Three Goodness (3G) stands for: Do good deeds, say good words, and think good thoughts.

While the Four Givings (4G) represents giving others confidence, giving joy, giving hope, and giving convenience.

The Venerable Master Hsing Yun, founder of the Fo Guang Shan (FGS) Buddhist Temple, introduced the value of 3G4G.

Both the Fo Guang Shan Temples in Auckland and Christchurch have hosted the 3G4G Festival of Cultural Sharing for 10 consecutive years.

The festival is supported by NZ Police and schools.

More than 33,000 students, teachers, and parents from 63 local schools have participated.

The free educational program not only aligns with the schools’ core values but promises to build a better future, empowering young ones to walk the talk.
