Police say the young person allegedly involved in an incident in Northpark last night received medical care and is now back with his or her family.

Investigators now want to hear from anyone who has information that may help them establish what happened.

As the Times reported this morning, police are in the very early stages of an investigation into the incident.

“Enquiries are under way to establish the exact circumstances surrounding this incident,” a police spokesperson said earlier.

“A scene examination has been completed and there will be an increased police presence in the area as we conduct enquiries.”

People posted on local community Facebook pages last night that multiple police cars and an ambulance were at a location in Millhouse Drive.

A person commented anonymously that the incident related to a schoolgirl who had been abducted. Police have not confirmed that is the case.

Police told the Times this afternoon that anyone who has information that may assist their enquiries can phone 105, referencing job number P058960156.

Information can also be provided anonymously via the free Crimestoppers tip-off line on 0800 555 111.
