Alongside their nationwide Street Appeal on March 10-11, Child Cancer Foundation is urging Kiwis to make a donation online any day this month via their virtual ‘Send a Smile’ appeal.
The virtual appeal features four-year-old Addison Blair, who was diagnosed with cancer in
February 2022.
The appeal is focused on the positive impact of donating to Child Cancer Foundation – both
for the families who benefit from their support services and the donor themselves.
“Every donation we receive directly funds vital support that puts a smile on the faces of
children with cancer and their whānau during one of the toughest times in their lives,” says
Child Cancer Foundation chief executive, Monica Briggs.
“Whether it’s through a delivery of groceries, a petrol voucher or a listening ear of support,
every donor can experience the feel-good factor of knowing they have provided life-changing assistance.”
On Friday March 10 and Saturday March 11, the foundation will have hundreds of volunteers out on the streets to collect these much-needed donations in person, but Kiwis can also donate virtually any day in March.
“We’ve had to cancel our physical street collection in regions most severely impacted by
Cyclone Gabrielle: Hawke’s Bay, Gisborne, Northland and Coromandel,” says Briggs, “and
we urgently need aid to support families living in these regions who are also dealing with
childhood cancer.”
“Please help us provide this vital support by donating to one of our volunteers on the streets or virtually this March.”
