Police are hunting for two men following an aggravated robbery at a superette on Ti Rakau Drive on Saturday afternoon.
Social media reported several police patrol cars and the Eagle helicopter were called to the scene.
Police confirmed to the Times that a robbery took place at around 3.30pm.
“Two males entered the store with weapons and threatened the shopkeepers and then left with cash from the till and cigarettes,” a police spokesman said.
“We are talking to the victims and supporting them and we are conducting a scene investigation,” police said.
