Motorists are advised a busy local intersection will be temporarily closed due to work on the Eastern Busway public transport project.
Auckland Transport (AT) says the intersection of William Roberts Road and Reeves Road in Pakuranga will be closed from the evening of June 2 to the morning of 6 June 6.
During that time, an underground wastewater pipe will be installed to help manage water run-off.
“Access to residents’ properties and community facilities will be maintained while work takes place during the day and at night,” AT says.
“Traffic detours will guide motorists around the road closures.
“Construction noise and vibration will be within permitted limits and kept to a minimum.”
Meanwhile, the Eastern Busway team will also be investigating the location and type of underground services in the Pakuranga Town Centre area from June 6 until August.
“The information we gather will help us to prepare for the Eastern Busway to be built,” says Tom Willetts of the project’s leadership team.
Work will take place during the day in the car park of Pakuranga Plaza and at night on Pakuranga Road, Ti Rakau Drive and at the entries/exits to the Pakuranga Plaza car park.
“The time of day for the work to be done has been planned carefully to help reduce the impacts on the community and to traffic,” Willetts says.
