UPDATE: Great start for Ryan Fox at US Open

Ryan Fox, from Beachlands, has made a strong start in the first round of the US Open.

UPDATE: Ryan Fox is sitting tied for 32nd spot after his third round. He narrowly missed the cut after his second round where he sat tied at 49 following a four-over 74. He recorded a 1 under round to go 1 over for the tournament after R3.

Kiwi Ryan Fox has fallen down the leaderboard at the US Open, leaving the course in a 17-way tie for 49th, after his second round at the Los Angeles Country Club.

After finishing the opening day tied for 14th with a two-under display, Fox carded six bogeys to shoot a four-over 74 second round, falling 37 places to sit on the cutline at two over.

Beachlands’ professional golfer Ryan Fox has made a solid start at the US Open at Los Angeles Country Club to go two-under and tied for seventh earlier today (NZT) after his first round.

Fox finished on a two-under 68. Fox made back-to-back birdies on 8 and 9 after finishing the front nine in style by draining a putt from over 20 feet, Stuff reported.

He also birdied the par-five No. 12 but followed up with a bogey on the par-four 13 after misjudging an easy putt in his only blemish of the day.

Americans Rickie Fowler and Xander Schauffele have created history with the record-equalling rounds of 62.

But with a number of top-ranked golfers yet to tee off or still early in their round, Fox’s placing could change and has done so, shifting to ninth and then 11th.
