Moon Festival

Join us at the Howick Moon Festival at Barry Curtis Park, off Flat Bush School Road, on Saturday September 10 from 4pm-9 pm.

Enjoy an evening of culture and tradition at this outdoor family event, also known as Mid- Autumn Festival. The moon, in Chinese tradition, signifies peace, prosperity and family reunion.

There will be music and dance performances with food and craft stalls onsite.

Sports awards

The Howick Local Board was proud to host the Howick Sports Awards at the Pakuranga United Rugby Club last week.

A number of exceptional contributors to sport were acknowledged for their skills and the dedication they gave to local sport over 2021.

Congratulations to all finalists and deserving winners.

Summer play

The playground at Juliet Avenue is currently undergoing a full renewal which includes drainage works within the playground footprint.

This is due to be complete by the end of September, with renewal of the playground at Howick Domain following closely behind with completion due in November.

Update on works

Renewal of the paths within Lloyd Elsmore Park is well underway.

To date, the northern path is 80 per cent completed.

Asphalt will be placed later when the section is dry.

The first section of the main path is also 80 per cent complete and the second section is underway.

Completion time is weather-dependant but aimed at the end of September.

Seawall renewal works at Bramley Drive are now 100 per cent complete and looking fantastic.

Walkway renewal works are currently in progress with planting to follow after the walkway is completed.
